Car parking
The distance between the starting point and the destination of the 2000-meter swim in Sweden is approximately 2.7 km. If you are arriving by car, you can leave the car, for example, at Polcirkelhuset (Arctic Circle area) or near Polvallen and walk about 2 km to the starting point, or you can leave the car at the starting point of the 2000-meter swim. Then some of us organisers may drive the drivers back to the starting point where the cars are.
Park your car next to the road in the starting area. Please do not drive your car into the starting area itself.
In the Polvallen area, just before the football field, there's a long building. You can park your car on the opposite side of it or along the building, just ensure your car isn't in front of any doors.
Please do not drive cars into the finish area (the beach).

12:30 Preparing for the start
Competitors should move to the restricted starting area. There will be a check-in with your number when you enter the starting area. Attach the timing tag to your wrist, as you will need to touch the timing mat at the finish. Please ask for help from others if you need assistance securing the wristband.
Please leave your bag in the marked area.
13:00 Start
The contestants will swim across the border into Finland and back to Sweden, crossing the timezone and passing by the Arctic Circle. They will then reach the finish line back in Sweden at Niska's shore, near the Polvallen football field.
Important information about the swimming track
The swimming track is marked by buoys (or barrels). You need to stay close to them and on their right side. The boats will be on the left side of the buoys, and there may be some canoes and kayaks on your right side. You need to stay close to the buoys, at a maximum distance of about 10 meters. As the swim route turns towards the Swedish shore, the current will try to push you off the swim route. Near the finish area on the swimming route, there are smaller buoys on both sides to guide you towards the finish line.
Problem situations
If you face any problems during the swim, try to reach a floating position and draw the security boat's attention by yelling and waving your arm. When the security boat arrives, tell them about the problem and listen carefully to the instructions given to you. If you need to quit the competition, you will be taken to the security boat and get a ride to the finish line. In case of emergencies, the boat will take you straight to the medical personnel.
13:20 Finish line in Sweden
When you enter the finish line, touch the red timing mat on a pier to register your time. Then walk along the aisle to the beach.
Warm berry soup and coffee are served at the finish area. Sauna, showers, and hot tubs for the contestants at Polvallen football field, about 200 meters from the beach.
